The amount accounts for 98.2% of the applications received under the Single Area Payment Scheme (SAPS) and the Complementary National Direct Payments (CNDP) scheme during Campaign 2011. They were paid to 86 199 SAPS candidates and 67 280 CNDP candidates. This is the first time the Bulgarian paying agency authorizes a single tranche for such a big amount. SFA undertook to pay at least 90% of the subsidies for the two schemes before January 31 as part of a Bulgarian agriculture framework agreement made September 2011.

The scheme is a state aid for agricultural producers who engage in direct supplies of their own production – small quantities of raw materials and foods of animal origin.

State Fund Agriculture (SFA) paid out the second part of the national complementary payments for cattle.

The most impressive outcome of the EU scheme is that it has positively affected the food habits of children at home as well. This is the intended long-term goal of the School Fruit Scheme that is part of EU policies to improve public health.

During the last month of the year, State Fund Agriculture (SFA) successfully administered a significant amount of funding to farmers and Rural Development Programme (RDP) beneficiaries – 275 million leva.
