Right before Christmas, organic farmers and farmers in less-favored regions received 64 448 900 leva. For a first time, these subsidies are paid out before the year’s end. The source of the funding is the Rural Development Programme (RDP) and the state budget.

For the second consecutive year, agricultural producers from Sofia district have been donating part of their produce to the St. Nicholas orphanage in the village of Novi Chan, Elin Pelin municipality.

Today, the Expert Commission for Transparency (ECT) of State Fund Agriculture (SFA) approved 15 proposals under the Rural Development Programme (RDP). The projects are under measures 321: Basic services for the economy and rural population, 322: Village renewal and development, and 122: Improving the economic value of forests. The subsidies amount to, respectively, 9 294 264 leva, 2 914 774 leva, and 370 243 leva.

The plan will be applied at the start of 2012 admission period for the National Beekeeping Programme (NBP). The exact opening date will be announced later. The plan will provide beneficiaries the financial resource necessary to carry out projects approved under Measure D – purchasing new hives, clusters, queens, and equipment.
