The paying agencies of Bulgaria and Croatia shall draft a cooperation agreement to combat fraud. The decision was made during a three-day seminar in Croatia co-organised by the AFCOS (Anti-Fraud Coordination Service) Directorate to the Ministry of Interior. The agreement is aimed at ensuring the proper spending of European agricultural funds, as well as at improving control systems, SFA Executive Director Vassil Grudev announced. The partnership between the two paying agencies began last year during the first meeting hosted by SFA - PA.

A team of SF Agriculture experts presented funding opportunities under the new National Beekeeping Programme for the period 2020-2022 (NBP 2020-2022) to nearly 50 producers at Oborishte Farmer’s Market. Brochures with information on the measures that beekeepers can apply for were also distributed at the SFA booth. The beekeeping programme for the three-year period 2020–2022 has a total budget of BGN 19,199,412 or BGN 6.4 million per year, of which 50 percent shall be provided by the EU and 50% by the national budget.

SF Agriculture has transferred the first tranche of BGN 19,193,877 to 4,461 livestock farmers who applied for the Transitional National Decoupled Support for Cattle (NSA1).

“Children in schools and kindergartens shall now be provided with quality Bulgarian fruit and milk products. Since the beginning of October, products under the Kindergarten and School Fruit, Vegetables, Milk and Milk Products Schemes, have been supplied in educational institutions,” SFA Deputy Executive Director Ivan Kapitanov said.

SF Agriculture has received reports on stubble burning in agricultural areas. In this regard, joint groups were established, involving officials from the regional directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (MAFF) and SFA. These will monitor cases of unauthorised stubble burning throughout the country. The teams shall also be on duty during the upcoming holidays.
