   This year more than 2 200 applications were received under the five open measures of the National Beekeeping Program (NBP) 2017-2019. Under measure D “Measures to support the renewal of bee hives in the European Union”, which is with a budget of BGN 2 289 510, 1 699 applications were submitted. After examining the submitted applications, State Fund Agriculture announced in April the second and third ranking of the candidates under the three activities of the measure. The beekeepers have already been signing the contracts at the regional directorates of the Fund according to the place of submission of the participation papers.

   All approved applicants for the purchase of technical equipment for the primary extraction and processing of honey under the measure “Technical Assistance to beekeepers and to the associations of the beekeepers” also have the opportunity to sign contracts for the provision of financial assistance under the Beekeeping Program for the financial year 2017. 373 applications were submitted this year. The approved for financing under the measure for the rationalization of the movable beekeeping are also concluding contracts for the implementation of their projects.

   The National Beekeeping Program (NBP) 2017-2019 has a total budget of approximately BGN 14.28 million of which 50 per cent are provided by the EU and 50 per cent from the national budget. The amount determined for 2017 is BGN 4 758 590.
