   The State Fund for Agriculture paid BGN 70,012,383 to 38,781 farmers under the transitional national tobacco aid scheme. The financial support was approved by a decision of the Management Board of the Fund. It was paid for the 2021 Campaign to growers who grew the Kaba Kulak, Burley, Virginia and Basmi varieties during the 2007-2009 reference period.

   The amount of the rates under the scheme is determined by an Order of the Minister of Agriculture.

   In the Basmi variety group, for quantities up to 1 ton inclusive, the rate is BGN 2.07 / kg (BGN 1.34 + BGN 0.73). For quantities over 1 ton to 2 tons the rate is BGN 2.01 / kg (BGN 1.34 + BGN 0.67). For tobacco producers with quantities over 2 tons at BGN 1.34 / kg. The amount of payment for the variety "Kaba Kulak" is 1.05 BGN / kg, for the variety "Burley" is 0.77 BGN / kg, and for "Virginia" is 0.61 BGN / kg.

   Support under the transitional national tobacco aid schemes shall be provided in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance № 3 on the terms and conditions for the application of direct payment schemes. Farmers who have grown tobacco in at least one of the years included in the reference period 2007-2009 are entitled to support. Their production should be purchased and awarded under the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Act (TTA).
